TANGO con La TANAGALESA

¡sigue muy pronto la versión en Castellano!

Jenni Barbieri has been living and breathing tango and the life of Buenos Aires for many years; she was resident there from 1998 to 2009.  From 2010 she has been dividing her life between Argentina and Wales, in the UK, where she continues to offer classes, seminars and events.

A professional dancer, originally formed in contemporary dance, she has dedicated much of her life to tango over the last fifteen years.  Whilst living and working in Buenos Aires she has had instruction and support from some of the world’s most outstanding masters including Mingo Pugliese, Raul Bravo, Angel Coria and  most especially from Aurora Lubíz and from Carlos and Maria Rivarola.

She has also worked with the fusion of traditional and new tango (tango tradicional y tango nuevo), studying with Cristina Cortés, and with Gustavo Rosas amongst others.  She has studied women’s tango technique (tecnica para mujeres) with Graciela González and with Aurora Lubíz, and Argentine folk dance (folclore) with Koki and Pajarin Saavedra.

Her experience as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer in contemporary dance, tango and dance composition has also taken her to Brazil, Peru, France and Portugal and all over the UK.  She has studied and practised Tai Chi Chuan for many years and explores the link between tai chi principles and tango.

As well as dancing and teaching Tango,  she writes about dance and music for newspapers and magazines in Argentina and in Europe, specialising in the music and dance of Latin America
